More about Nicole…

Nicole’s path to founding Selah Seminary and developing the Prophetic Life Coaching model stems from her own personal battles and experiences in ministry. Growing up as a pastor’s kid in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, she observed firsthand the toll that serving in ministry can take on one’s health and well-being. Despite her early engagement in ministry—preaching, teaching, and leading worship—Nicole struggled with hidden battles such as pornography addiction, depression, and anxiety, ultimately facing burnout. At one point, she was nearly 100 pounds overweight, serving others at the expense of her own physical and emotional health. Her journey to healing led her to reexamine traditional ministry structures and the gaps they left in supporting the whole person.

Through this personal transformation, Nicole developed the Prophetic Life Coaching model, a holistic approach to discipleship that emphasizes the integration of spiritual guidance with emotional healing and practical life strategies. Unlike traditional models that often prioritize intellectual knowledge, this coaching model focuses on the emotional and spiritual well-being of leaders, allowing them to experience true personal transformation and discover their unique calling in ministry. Nicole’s ministry has reached hundreds of thousands through her online presence, including YouTube and Instagram, where she offers guidance on integrating faith into all areas of life.

Nicole’s academic background also played a crucial role in shaping her approach to ministry. She graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Sociology, focusing on education, national identity, and language policy. Her academic work provided a deep understanding of the importance of culturally relevant pedagogy and the need for education to address the whole person. Nicole's commitment to holistic education was further strengthened by her experiences as an English teacher in Dakar, Senegal, where she co-developed curriculum for cross-cultural settings. Additionally, Nicole contributed to the Polaris Young Adult Leadership Network at Princeton Theological Seminary, advocating for pedagogical reform and leadership development within theological education.

In addition to her ministry coaching practice, which has served over 500 leaders, Nicole has successfully helped many build sustainable online ministries that generate multi-six-figure incomes while impacting lives globally. Her work continues to empower leaders to clarify, operationalize, and execute their divine calling, fostering spiritual and emotional growth that leads to lasting ministry impact.

Nicole’s prophetic gifting and coaching expertise have earned her recognition, including the Irene Bryant Spirit Award in 2022. She remains dedicated to reshaping Christian leadership, preparing leaders who are not only knowledgeable but deeply transformed, capable of leading ministries that bring healing, empowerment, and societal transformation across the globe.
