Mya McQueen serves as the Vice President and Director of Student Recruitment and Leadership Development at Selah Seminary, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the seminary’s transformative mission. Her extensive background in leadership spans various educational institutions and non-profit organizations, where she has honed her expertise in relationship building, community development, leadership development, and financial management. Mya’s journey in ministry and education uniquely positions her to lead Selah Seminary’s efforts to train and empower ministry leaders within the African Diaspora.

Mya’s brings a profound commitment to fostering holistic growth in Christian leaders. With a career spanning roles at Neumann University, Temple University, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, University of Pennsylvania, and Ramapo College of New Jersey, Mya has consistently prioritized student development and community building, equipping her with the insight and skills needed to cultivate transformative learning environments.

Mya’s early career in program coordination, particularly in youth-centered summer camps, ignited her passion for fostering personal and spiritual growth. Her time as Program Coordinator at Table of Hope and the SOAR Program in Morristown, NJ, deepened her dedication to student and community development. Under the mentorship of Rev. Dr. Sidney Williams Jr. at Bethel Church of Morristown, Mya gained practical ministry experience in worship leadership, gospel preaching, and prophetic training, further solidifying her commitment to nurturing spiritual maturity in emerging leaders.

Mya earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Neumann University, focusing on the needs of low-income youth, and a Master’s in College Student Affairs (Higher Education) from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, where she specialized in first-generation college student support. This blend of academic rigor and practical experience has shaped her holistic approach to student services, one that prioritizes emotional, spiritual, and relational growth.

At Selah Seminary, Mya’s role as Vice President and Director of Student Recruitment & Leadership Development allows her to directly support and mentor students as they prepare for impactful ministry. Her commitment to Selah’s mission is evident in her holistic approach to leadership development, prioritizing the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of students. Mya’s vision is to create spaces where students are equipped to lead with integrity, compassion, and a deep sense of purpose, ensuring they are ready to make transformative impacts in their communities and the broader marketplace.
